Thank YOU!  I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you all for your part in developing volleyball. Here is what we had yesterday:

13U - 7 teams (35 kids)
21U - 6 teams (28 kids)

We've had bigger turnouts in the past, but we saw lots of new faces and that is encouraging.

Particulars
- 5 courts
- Tons of volunteers and spectators
- Several large Russian men in speedos wanting to join in the fun
- 21U All-Stars versus Old Stars (All-Stars, Clay, Phalai, Tommy, Zena, Andrew vs. Tyce, Randy, Mili and Russ) All-Stars won 25-19.
- 13U All-Stars - Spencer, Logan, Blake, Gillian, Allen and ?
- First ever Flags game. Thank you Tyce for organizing it and finding cool flags.
- Best spirited team (Amie's Girls and Leo) all won volleyballs.
- 1st place 21U- The Lambs (Phalai, Andrew, Chris and Clay)
- 1st place 13U- Do Netts (Logan, Spencer, Gillian, Allen)

It was a long but fruitful season. We introduced the kids to playing on grass, in-door and beach. We held practices every Saturday and most Wednesdays. I want to thank you all for what you've brought to volleyball in the CNMI. I also want to recognize Fiesta Resort and Spa's Elena Soll, she is a wonderful supporter of volleyball and has really helped with the events.

We recommence practices on January 18th in preparations for the Marianas Cup Juniors (held in Guam) and Kid's Cup.

I hope you all have a great holiday season.

Cheers --- Coach Russ

and a p.s. from Coach Nick Gross

Hafa adai! A very spirited "Great Job To All!" I'm currently stretching out at the Narita Airport awaiting my connection to Bangkok for the FIVB / AVC / Thailand VB "Volleyball in the school" symposium slated for 12/3-12/5. Please feel free to shoot me any questions or concerns you may have that I may be able to voice on behalf of NMIVA. I'm hoping to pick-up some great coaching ideas, as well as some more recruitment techniques.

On a slightly different note, I've approached the COE for PSS regarding a "Cool Volley" event for the "central cluster" (grades4-12) either the 18 or 19 of Dec. at Hopwood. She likes the idea, but wants more info. regarding the specifics, so get ready for one last volunteer session of the year!! I'll update ASAP.

Once again, Great Job!

I'll put a report together for my return regarding all the great stuff I'm sure to pick-up!

Thanks and Happy Holidays!
