NMIVA Secretary Amie McRoberts who attended the World Congress in Sardinia, Italy over the last few two weeks told Variety that their primary focus since last April has been the best pathways to re-establishing CNMI national team for indoor volleyball.

This is part of the draft strategic plans that NMIVA is updating for the 2015 to 2020.

“NMIVA’s board is very aware of the challenges we face with growing our sport. We are working towards having our draft strategic plans updated for 2015-2020 by the end of this year,” McRoberts said.

She however said that while they have made several attempts over the past three years to get this program started again, “up until now the hurdles we’ve faced have been too high to for us to cross.”

McRoberts added that with a new strategy and working very closely with Marianas Interscholastic Sports Organization and Public School System, NMIVA’s future plans include the development of CNMI indoor national teams ready for major competitions by 2018.
