Northern Mariana Islands Volleyball Association (NMIVA) is pleased to re-announce the recently rescheduled season opener of kids volleyball tournaments beginning this Saturday February 2nd at the Navy Hill Athletic Field.
Registration starts at 8:30am for a 9am start. There will be three divisions 25U 2-person, 18U and 13U 4-person teams of at least four (4) players of which at least one player of the opposite gender must be on the court at all times.
This is FREE tournament! 8:30am registration, 9:00am games and we are shooting for a 1:00pm finish time (last tournament we finished at 12:30!)
There will be three divisions in a in varying formats with the following special rules for each age group:
- 18U = Age Group 14-18: Bonus opportunity for Bump, Hand-set and over head spike(must be a point on that play in order to get an additional point)
- 13U = Age Group 8-13: Bonus point opportunity same as above, plus over hand serve second try. If player attempts over hand serve, they get a second chance if they miss (only on first serve attempt)
- 25U = 25 and under: Standard two person beach volleyball rules apply
We are seeking volunteers to help in the following area's:
- Set up: To begin Saturday morning at 7:30am. We will be using the two permanent courts plus adding an additional 3 courts for a total of 5. (Need 4 volunteers)
- Registration: Need to be there at 8am to set up tables chairs and organize various forms. (Need 2 volunteers)
- Referees: Would like to have a rotation of refs but need at least 5.
