The CNMI Ladies win this past weekend in the AVC Continental Cup Zonal Tournament won them a slot to the next round.

Continental Cup Final in 2012 (18-24 June)

The AVC Continental Cup (Final phase) will be staged from June 18-24 2012.

A total of 16 countries from each gender will participate in the AVC Continental Cup, which will be the top three countries from each zone (15 countries in total), plus the hosting country. In the case that the hosting country is among the top three qualifiers of its zonal tournament, the fourth-ranked country of the zonal tournament will be able to play in the AVC Continental Cup final.

The seeding of the participating countries will be established according to the final placings at the zonal phase of the AVC Continental Cup. In case of a tie, a drawing of lots will be conducted on-site by the assigned AVC Technical Supervisor.

All country vs. country matches are to be played either with four matches and a Golden Set or, in case of a tie, a typical “best of five” format (in this case matches 4 and 5 will only be played if necessary).

In order to better promote the sport of Beach Volleyball in AVC territory, AVC will decide among the candidate countries the possibility of holding the women’s final and men’s final in two different cities/countries. AVC considers the Continental Cup Final a huge opportunity in developing and expanding Beach Volleyball and believes it has the potential to become the most important event in Asia and Oceania.

The duration of the AVC Continental Cup Final will be five days.

The champion of the AVC Continental Cup Final will qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The second and third ranked countries, if not yet qualified, will qualify for the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Cup Olympic Qualification that will be held from June 25, 2012-July 1, 2012.
