2009 – Present: University of Hawaii Men’s Volleyball Head Coach 2007-2009: Head Coach University of Pacific Women’s Volleyball Team 1995 – 2007: Assistant Coach University of Hawaii Women’s Volleyball Team 1993: Founded the Southern California Volleyball Institute. 1991: Cal State Fullerton Assistant Volleyball Coach During his time at UH from 1995-2005, the Rainbow Wahine won 11 conference titles, advanced to the NCAA Regionals 10 times, and made four NCAA Championship appearances. UH posted a remarkable 160-1 conference mark and an overall record of 310-39 for an 89 percent winning percentage during his tenure. In post season competition, Wade helped guide the Rainbow Wahine to 11 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, six Regional Finals (1995, ’96, ’98, 2000, ’02, ’03), and four Final Fours (1996, 2000, ’02, ’03), including the national championship match in 1996. As the program’s primary recruiter, Wade coached eight All-Americans, who earned 18 All-America certificates and two National Players of the Year (Angelica Ljungquist in 1996 and Kim Willoughby in 2003).During his first five years at UH, Wade also coached the Rainbow Asics club team, which featured Rainbow Wahine All-American Lily Kahumoku and former Minnesota setter and current U.S. Olympian Lindsey Berg. He also served as head coach of the Anaheim, California club and coached eventual Rainbow Wahine standouts Kristal Attwood, Kee Williams, Sarah Chase, Heather Bown and Jessica Sudduth and former UOP standout Tracy Chambers.
CHRIS SHEPHERD 2010 - Present: Guam Men’s National Volleyball Team Head Coach. Coached the 2010 Micronesian Games Gold Medal winning team. 2009: Captain of Guam Men’s National Volleyball Team which finished 6th at the 2009 East Asian Games 1995 – Present: Head Coach of the St. John’s Girl’s Varsity Volleyball Team (189-86 record, 5 IIAAG League championships, 1 Far East championship) 1993 – Present: Head Coach of St. John’s Boy’s Varsity Volleyball Team (180 – 91 record, 2 IIAAG League championships) 1993: Graduate Assistant Coach at the University of Hawaii 1989 – 1992: University of Hawaii Middle Blocker. Selected captain and MVP of the 1992 Team. Hitting percentage was 9th in the country. ASHLEY WATANABE 2010: Head Coach St. Thomas Boy’s JV Volleyball Team 2009 – Present: Head Coach St. John’s Middle School Girls Volleyball Team 2002 – 2005: University of Hawaii defensive specialist. Holds the University of Hawaii single season records for digs in a season (481 in 2005), and digs per game (4.22 in 2004). She finished her career 4th on the University of Hawaii All-Time dig leaders list with 973. |
