Prince & Princess of the Beach Volleyball Tournament Rules

Teams:         No Teams! – Individual players will rotate every game

Format:        Two 18U Divisions – Boys & Girls

King/Queen of the Beach - 2-players rotating partners for each game

·        Each player scores individually NOT as a team

For example: Players A & B = 15, then each player scores 15 for that game and losing Players C &D = 9 each score 9 for that game.

·        The cumulative score with each partner rotation is a player’s total score at the end of a round.

For example, in pool play, Player 1 plays with Player 2, then Player 3, then Player 4. Player 1’s cumulative score is whatever the finish was for each game 2+3+4=Score for Player 1 or in numbers it might look like this: 15+10+15=40 points (two wins and one loss).

Maximum 16-players in each Division (total 32 players)

·        Top 8 scorers advance to the semi-finals

·        Top 4 scorers advance to the finals

·        Top scorer in finals is the Prince or Princess of the Beach!

·        Pool play (games to 15, cap 21, rally scoring )

·        Semi-Finals & Finals (games to 21, cap at 25, rally scoring)

Depending on the number of players entered, Directors reserve the right to adjust game scoring in order to finish all the games that need to be played on 4-courts.
